We use a very high quality Nikon scanner specifically designed to process 35mm slides (and negatives) at the highest resolution.
1. My pictures are very precious, is it safe to post them?
To date we have not had a problem with Australia Post losing or damaging items. However you can take additional precautions by sending your slides by Registered Post (or via a courier). Once you place an order on our website we know to look out for a package. If it doesn't show up within 3 working days we'll send you an email so can get onto the post office (or courier) immediately.
There is a risk, but if you do nothing your slides and negatives will eventually turn to dust of their own accord.
2. My slides are old and faded. Are they worth scanning?
Our scanner can do an amazing job of restoring colour and removing dust and scratch marks. It hasn't happened yet but if you send us a batch that is beyond help we will return them and only charge for the return postage.
