Will you clean my mouldy slides or negatives?

We can attempt to clean the mould off your slides (or negatives).

We will charge you an additional 25 cents per slide - regardless of whether it is mouldy or not - this is because it is not always possible to see the mould, so we clean each slide - just in case.

But you should be aware that the process is not perfect ...

Points to note ...

• Even if we remove all the surface mould, the image of the mould may remain on your image if the mould has eaten into the pigment.
• Because of the mount we cannot clean right up to the edge of the slide.
• If there is any unnoticed grit on the celluloid the cleaning process will scratch the surface - which is not good.
• We offer no compensation for any damage that may be caused during the cleaning process.
• We offer no compensation for any slides that may be accidentally omitted during the cleaning process.

Although it can be risky, mouldy slides look terrible when they are scanned, so cleaning the mould off is generally worth the effort.
